Shadowspec Retreat - Clever shade for compact spaces.

The Shadowspec RetreatTM is built from sleek, modern materials. We’ve handpicked the world’s best to ensure longevity. Anodised Aluminium and 316 Stainless Steel work in harmony with our in-house design philosophy.

The umbrella features 3-year fabric and frame warranties, patented opening technology and tilting, rotating and extending capabilities. It’s available in 5 colours and ships in a single box.

The design of the Retreat, along with the rotation and extension enables a wider variety of installation locations. It closes flat, straight down with a two-stage system.

The Shadowspec Retreat is ideal for balconies, spa pools and other small spaces that require shade.

    We bought the 4m octagonal serenity model. It was more expensive than most models we saw on the market BUT the quality is fantastic and it looks amazing. After seeing this umbrella, other brands looked so inferior so we decided to invest in this one. Terry is very passionate about his products and was very helpful. The installer was also so friendly. Would highly recommend.

    Sydney Shade answered all my queries and communicated with a genuine interest in helping with the decision process. Terry and son were professional, Covid safe and got the job done as though it was their own backyard. We had them create the concrete footing as well and I’m definitely glad they managed this process as the final install looks excellent.

    We were trying to find a solution for our backyard whereby we could have an umbrella without the need for a giant base. Came across Sydney Shade and installed a triple cantilever umbrella. Looks great and is so easy to use. A great investment that compliments our backyard perfectly. We plan to add a fourth umbrella to complete the set up and having used one of the built in LED lights will definitely be getting more ready for summer evenings around the pool.     We have have a deck facing onto a great view, but requiring summer shade through a wall mounted umbrella. It gets windy up there so we needed something sturdy. We had a look at the Paraflex and then saw details of the New Zealand engineered Shadowspec Retreat 2.7 m Hexagonal umbrella. We were impressed by its manouverability and apparent ease of operation compared with Paraflex.
